Brought back to Edmonton by popular demand, these two Russian musicians who make Vienna, Austria, their home, have been consistently hailed as, simply, masters. Co-produced with The Wirth Institute for Austrian and Central European Studies, the concert promises to be yet another unforgettable experience and features a powerful blend of modern and Romantic pieces, including Maximilian Kreuz’s (b. 1953, Vienna) Schubert-Paraphrasen, Franz Schubert’s (1797 – 1828) famous Duo in A Major and Alexander von Zemlinsky’s (1871-1942) hauntingly beautiful Serenade, and the première of Edmonton’s own Thom Golub’s Noosphere (2009, Denisova-Kornienko commission).
