Patricia Clattenburg was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia. After graduating from High School she earned her Bachelor of Arts (Music) degree from the University of King’s College, winning the Royal Canadian College of Organists’ Bach Prize her graduating year. She has a Certificate in Education from Dalhousie University and Level Three Orff Certification from the University of Alberta.
Patricia has experience teaching music and directing choirs in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Quebec and Alberta. Prior to coming to Webber Academy she taught for Edmonton Public Schools where she helped create a Performance Standards Document for Elementary Music Education. At the same time, she was also a co-operating teacher with the University of Alberta for the Advanced Placement Teaching Experience of undergraduate students. Patricia has attended international workshops and seminars, and continues to look for innovative ways to inspire her students to become discerning and creative musicians.
Patricia currently directs the Webber Academy Senior Choir. The choir has been invited to represent the city of Calgary at the Alberta Provincial Music Festival on many occasions and continues to be the recipient of many awards and scholarships at both the local and provincial levels.
